Potable Water Tank Replacement

Rapid Potable Water Tank Replacement at Scottish Holiday Park

Addressing Critical Water System Challenges in Continuous Operation Facilities

Maintaining a reliable potable water supply is paramount for holiday parks operating all-year-round. A prominent holiday park in Scotland, managed by the Camping & Caravanning Club, faced a critical challenge with its water system, which relied on a large holding tank to supply drinking water to the entire site. However, the tank was in a severe state of disrepair, with multiple leaks and the risk of catastrophic failure looming.

Taking the tank offline to address these issues would have meant cutting off the water supply, forcing the closure of the facility and resulting in significant revenue loss. As the site operates year-round, the client required a bespoke solution to rapidly restore the tank to modern compliance standards, without disrupting the water supply or affecting operations.

Innovative Bypass System Allows Seamless Tank Replacement

With the tank at risk of imminent failure, our team needed to act swiftly. We conducted a thorough survey of the existing system and developed a bespoke design and project plan. Central to the solution was the installation of a new bypass system, allowing the replacement of the faulty tank without interrupting the site’s water supply.

Our full turnkey proposal included:

  • Overnight Installation of the Bypass System: To minimise operational disruption, the bypass was installed during off-peak hours, ensuring guests experienced no inconvenience.

  • Safe Decommissioning and Removal of the Existing Tank: The compromised tank was carefully dismantled and removed, adhering to all safety and environmental protocols.

  • Installation of a New, Fully Compliant GRP Sectional Tank: A modern, WRAS-approved glass reinforced plastic (GRP) sectional tank was erected, meeting all current potable water storage regulations.

The entire project, from initial survey to final commissioning, was executed within a 30-day timeframe, showcasing our commitment to efficiency and excellence.

Key Benefits Delivered

  • Swift Response and Execution: Our proactive approach ensured that the replacement commenced before any tank failure could impact operations, averting a potential site closure.

  • Uninterrupted Water Services: The innovative bypass system maintained a continuous potable water supply, allowing the holiday park to operate seamlessly throughout the project duration.

  • Comprehensive Turnkey Solution: Our in-house engineering team managed every aspect of the project, providing clear communication and accountability, and delivering a hassle-free experience for the client.
