Date Completed: August 2018
Replacement of leaking 2m x 2m x 1.5m GRP tank. Works included the installation of a temporary tank to ensure continuous supply throughout the project.
The GRP water tank located at this high profile shopping centre had been leaking from multiple locations around its base, and the internal bolts were severely corroded. The tank was less than 10 years old, however the mastic used to bond the panels had deteriorated over time, meaning the tank would either need to be replaced or relined. Due to the nature of the site, a temporary supply would be needed to ensure continuous supply of water to their critical systems.
The Titan Mechanical Services engineering team installed a temporary tank and connected it to the existing system, allowing the works to proceed without interrupting supply to site. We then drained, dismantled and removed the existing leaking cold water storage tank from site. Remediation of the base was required, before the installation of the new tank could be completed. On completion, the new tank was refilled, cleaned and disinfected before being put back on line. The temporary tank was then dismantled and removed from site. Works were completed over a long weekend, with no disruption to supply.
